Automobile manufacturers still promise speed and freedom, although the average speed of cars in major European cities is lower than that of 19th century carriages. On average, each vehicle is parked for 99% of its lifetime, not fulfilling any function but wasting valuable space. Thomas Feichtner designed a mobility concept as an impulse for discussion. A self-experiment, from concept to sketch to rendering. A vehicle usable like a room on wheels. As a rolling workshop, a medical service, a repair store or a sales booth. The car, not as a status symbol but as a functional object.

Noch immer versprechen Automobilhersteller Geschwindigkeit und Freiheit, obwohl die Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit der Autos in Europäischen Großstädten unter der der Kutschen aus dem 19. Jh. liegt. Im Schnitt steht jedes Fahrzeug über 99% seiner Lebensdauer und erfüllt dabei keine Funktion sondern verbracht wertvollen Platz. Thomas Feichtner entwarf ein Mobilitätskonzept als Diskussionsanstoß. Ein Selbstversuch, vom Konzept zur Skizze bis zum Rendering. Ein Fahrzeug benutzbar wie einen Raum auf Rädern. Als rollende Werkstatt, als Arztpraxis, als Repairshop oder Verkaufsstand. Das Auto, nicht als Statussymbol sondern als ein funktionaler Gegenstand.
